About Me
Hi, I’m Avii! I’m a Master of Public Health student at UQ with a background in Ayurvedic medicine. I am passionate about holistic health, community wellbeing, and equity. Originally from India, I’ve always believed in the power of combining ancient wisdom with modern public health to create meaningful change.
When I’m not busy with uni, you’ll probably find me sipping a homemade tulsi-ginger tea, going for long walks around Brisbane, or exploring local markets. I believe it’s those little, mindful moments that remind us of what wellbeing truly means.
I joined the UQ Wellbeing Student Advisory Group last year because I believed in the power of student voices shaping better campus experiences. As an international student, I understand firsthand the challenges many students face - whether related to academic pressures, mental wellbeing, cultural transitions, or feeling a sense of belonging. Being part of this amazing group gave me the opportunity to listen, learn, and represent student voices alongside a diverse and passionate team committed to enhancing student wellbeing.
Now, as Chair of the Group, I’m committed to building an inclusive, responsive, and action-oriented space where all students feel heard. I want every student to know that their well-being matters.
I warmly welcome you to reach out to me if you have any concerns, suggestions, or ideas related to student wellbeing. Whether it’s something big or small, I’m here to listen and bring your voice to the group so we can find practical, student-led solutions together.
