About Me
My name is Ayan Ahmed, and I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the University of Queensland. I’m incredibly honoured to be part of UQ’s Student Wellbeing Advisory Group, where I have the opportunity to contribute to important conversations surrounding student health, engagement, and support.
As a member of this group, I’m passionate about advocating for student wellbeing in all its forms; mental, physical, emotional, social, and academic. I believe that a successful university experience is deeply connected to feeling supported, valued, and understood, and I’m committed to ensuring that the student voice remains central to the university’s approach to wellbeing.
My motivation for joining the Student Wellbeing Advisory Group stems from my own experiences navigating the transition to university life and recognising just how important accessible support services and a strong sense of community are. I hope to be a voice for students who may not always feel heard, and to help shape initiatives that promote inclusivity, connection, and holistic wellbeing.
Being involved in this group gives me a unique opportunity to listen to the experiences of other students, provide meaningful input into wellbeing strategies, and collaborate with university staff to help make UQ a place where every student can thrive; both academically and personally.
