About Me
Hi! My name is Stephanie. I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours). Outside of uni, I like to dabble in a bit of everything. Right now, I'm really into bouldering, crocheting, and lolita fashion, to name a few! I also have a nursing background, so health and wellbeing are super important to me. I have a keen interest in mental health, and I'm passionate about spreading awareness and helping people access support in this area.
I moved to Australia when I was young and have grown up here ever since. Because of this background, I’ve often struggled with feeling a sense of belonging – being too different from my Vietnamese side, but also too different from my Australian side. However, this experience has helped me be able to empathise and also better understand the challenges people face when coming from a different culture and trying to assimilate. I want to support culturally and linguistically diverse students in feeling like they belong here at UQ, and I hope to help connect international students from around the world with our domestic student community.
As a UQ Wellbeing Student Representative, I’m really excited to promote the different health activities and services available on campus to support students’ mental and physical wellbeing. I'm also super keen to meet and chat with new people!
