Webinar: ADCET | What We're Learning - Empower Disability Services in Australian Higher Education
Join Darlene McLennan for an update on the ACSES Equity Fellowship examining disability support in Australian universities.
This webinar will share early findings from national surveys, interviews with practitioners and students with disability, and sector consultations. It will explore what disability support looks like across institutions, practitioner experiences and capacity, and what students say matters most. Learn about emerging themes around workload, professional development, the gap between policy and practice, and what drives meaningful change.
While the research is ongoing, these preliminary insights offer important perspectives on supporting both practitioners and students with disability in higher education.
In this webinar, Darlene McLennan will share early findings from the ACSES fellowship on disability services in Australian higher education. The research uses participatory action methods to understand three key questions:
- What does disability support provision actually look like across the sector?
- What is the experience of practitioners working in this field?
- And what skills and conditions do practitioners need to effectively support students?
