Shield: Support Services for men

Shield supports boys and men (14+) in QLD who have experienced sexual violence, through specialist counselling and supportive case management. Chat to the friendly team to learn more about this support service in your local community.

Women’s Health and Equality Queensland

Women’s Health and Equality Queensland are leaders in women’s health, gender equity and the primary prevention of violence in Queensland. UQ Poche Centre for Indigenous Health

Focusing on Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing, UQ Poche Centre for Indigenous Health undertakes multidisciplinary research to enhance understanding of diverse health issues affecting Indigenous peoples, reduce health inequity and improve health outcomes. A key project includes. Implementing a precision public health approach to move toward elimination of STIs, control of HIV and inform on other BBVs in regional Australia.

 

MadeHer Project

The University of Queensland and the Australian Women and Girls’ Health Research Centre are researching how periods and pelvic pain affect the daily life of teenagers. They are seeking QLD girls aged 11-19 to take part in this research study to improve the health and wellbeing of people who menstruate.

 

UQ Neurodivergent Hub

The Neurodivergent Hub assists students who identify as neurodivergent (you do not need a diagnosis to join the program) to adapt to university life and find success at UQ.
