We all have a role to play in the prevention of all forms of violence, both at UQ and in the broader community. This course focuses on how we as staff at UQ can work collaboratively to address the drivers of gender-based violence and create a culture of consent, inclusivity and safety.

Key topics that are explored in this course include:

• understanding primary prevention

• understanding and identifying gender-based violence, discrimination, harassment and bullying

• identifying practical strategies we can implement to promote trauma-informed and inclusive learning, research and workplace environments.

About Respect at Uni Week 2026

Respect at Uni Week 2026 encourages us all to consider and learn about ways we can work together to prevent violence and harassment in our communities and create safe and respectful spaces wherever we are.

Throughout the week, you are invited to attend a diverse array of events and workshops aimed to empower, educate and create opportunities for you to get more involved in our collective work to prevent violence and advocate for a safer and more respectful society. Addressing violence is only possible if we all come together, learn from each other and rethink the ways we engage in study, work and relationships.
