About Me

My name is Kalista, and I'm a Chinese-Indonesian from Jakarta, Indonesia. I have a background in Psychology and currently doing my Masters in Educational Studies (Guidance, Counselling, and Careers).

I have always been passionate about mental health since I was in college, but the COVID-19 pandemic also made me realize the importance of cultivating physical health as early as possible. Growing up as a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) individual, I understand that some part of wellbeing is considered taboo, which can create a feeling of shame and allows people to not take care of their wellbeing and not seek help. Informations are limited and we don't know who to ask because the topic itself is something people won't talk about in daily basis. With that in mind, I hope to help the CALD population in bringing awareness to wellbeing, especially mental health, so that it became a topic that is not considered taboo, and they would seek help and they know where to seek for resources.

I like to go to the gym to take care of my physical health and practice yoga to ground myself. I also like to junk journal, read psychology or fiction books, and trying out new sports - I like to move! I'm currently loving tennis and would like to practice more.

If there's only one thing I could do to take care of my wellbeing and prevent stress, I would just do nothing and stay still and just be. You should try that too!
