5-a-Side Football Tournament Comes To UQ!
The world’s most popular sport is coming to The University of Queensland. UQ Life in collaboration with UQ Sport brings you the inaugural 5-a-Side Football Tournament!
The 5-a-Side Football Tournament is for ALL football lovers. We have 24 men's teams registered and ready to play, and 4 women's teams itching to compete for the big prize.
Be part of the crowd, enjoy the electric atmosphere and cheer on your team. Expect music, food trucks, adrenaline-pumping matches, and heaps more!
It's a FREE event - open to all!
Event Details
Date: Thursday 31 August 2023
Time: Site opens at 3pm, before first matches at 4pm
Tournament close: 9.30pm
Location: Playing Field 7 (UQ Sport Athletics Centre), UQ St Lucia campus
Registration Details
- Registration is completely FREE, and will open 9am Tuesday 1 August, and close 9am Thursday 24 August
- Men’s and Women’s categories available. Participants can register as a team, or as an individual
- Prize money for 1st ($500), 2nd ($300), 3rd ($200) in each category
- Participants must be current UQ students to be eligible to play
- Teams to have a minimum of 5 players, and a maximum of 10 players
- Individual entrants will be assigned to a team for the competition
- Matches are 15 minutes long
