Compassion towards others and self-compassion have been found to be important in supporting your mental and physical health, combatting loneliness, and for building rewarding social relationships.
This R U OK? Day from 11am-1pm drop by Student Central and check out the Words of Compassion Wall. You can write some words of compassion to place on the wall for another person who comes by (in any language you would like!) or check out the wall and take away any words of compassion that you need today. You can come along with friends and write eachother some words of compassion or encouragement, or come by yourself and write/take some words compassion that speak to you.
The Words of Compassion Wall is here to show us this R U OK? Day that we aren't all that different, and that we aren't alone. We will also have our wonderful Ambassadors and student volunteers who come from many backgrounds and can help you with your Words of Compassion
About R U Ok? 2022
R U OK? Day is an annual suicide prevention campaign aiming to inspire and empower people to meaningfully connect with those around them and to provide support when someone is in need. The R U OK? Day theme this year is “Are they really OK? Ask them today”. We are all encouraged to Ask R U OK?, Listen, Encourage Action, and Check In.
At UQ we're joining in on the conversation, across all our campuses with activations at Herston and Gatton on Wednesday 7 September and St Lucia on Thursday 8 September.
