Sometimes asking or answering the question 'R U OK?' can be really difficult, even with your closest friends, family, colleagues, and classmates. For many people, there is still a lot of stigma and shame attached to our mental health and wellbeing. That’s why this R U OK? Day, we are asking you to contribute to our Let’s Chalk About It walkway to share your messages of hope, support, and awareness around mental health with chalk! This walkway will be located in front of Student Central (Building 42) on Thursday September 8, 2022 and is open for all to contribute.

About R U Ok? 2022

R U OK? Day is an annual suicide prevention campaign aiming to inspire and empower people to meaningfully connect with those around them and to provide support when someone is in need. The R U OK? Day theme this year is “Are they really OK? Ask them today”. We are all encouraged to Ask R U OK?, Listen, Encourage Action, and Check In.

At UQ we're joining in on the conversation, across all our campuses with activations at Herston and Gatton on Wednesday 7 September and St Lucia on Thursday 8 September.
