Come down to Student Central on R U OK? day for Cupcakes, Coffee and a Conversation. We’ll have our wonderful UQ Counselling students providing self-care check-ins. Plus, you’ll also walk away with a free MarketCart Coffee voucher to help you through your week.
But wait, there’s more! We’ll also have our UQ Counsellors walking around with R U OK? Day cupcakes as well as a table full of coffee and tea for you to grab as you need.
The regular practice to self-care has been shown to be helpful in reducing stress, improving concentration, and improving your overall wellbeing. Self-care has various types, including emotional, practical, physical, mental, social, and spiritual self-care. This event is all about checking in and spotlighting your self-care.
Many times when we are asked R U OK? we don’t know what to respond. A quick self-care check in can help start that conversation, so come down and grab a cuppa, cupcake, and have a conversation.
About R U Ok? 2022
R U OK? Day is an annual suicide prevention campaign aiming to inspire and empower people to meaningfully connect with those around them and to provide support when someone is in need. The R U OK? Day theme this year is “Are they really OK? Ask them today”. We are all encouraged to Ask R U OK?, Listen, Encourage Action, and Check In.
At UQ we're joining in on the conversation, across all our campuses with activations at Herston and Gatton on Wednesday 7 September and St Lucia on Thursday 8 September.
