At UQ, we have students from all over Australia, and all across the world. While studying at University can be a very exciting time, we can sometimes feel lonely and disconnected if we are living away form home. This R U OK? Day, join your classmates for card making where you will have a range of cards, stickers and pens at your fingertips to make it easy (and free) for you to write a letter home to your friends, family, and loved ones. It doesn't matter how much you write (you could even draw a picture), this activity is for everyone!

R U OK?Day is Thursday 8 September 2022.

We encourage you to wear yellow!

It’s our national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, ‘are you OK?’ and start a meaningful conversation whenever they spot the signs that someone they care about might be struggling with life.

R U OK? Day is an annual suicide prevention campaign aiming to inspire and empower people to meaningfully connect with those around them and to provide support when someone is in need. The R U OK? Day theme this year is “Are they really OK? Ask them today”. We are all encouraged to Ask R U OK?, Listen, Encourage Action, and Check In.
