Due to COVID-19, there will be no Healthy Relationships sessions run on campus for the remainder of the semester. Please check back regularly for updates.

Creating connections that thrive

Gain a deeper understanding of the experiences, ideas, values, beliefs and behaviours that influence the quality of relationships you have. The program takes place over 4 weeks and will provide you with the time to reflect on the relationship that you have, and the ones would like to have in the future. This program is free and open to all UQ students, of all genders, backgrounds and ages.

Disclaimer: The group is intended to be educational nature, and although we do share stories and touch on potentially triggering or sensitive topics, it is not intended to be a therapeutic or support group.

If you are currently experiencing violence (emotional, physical, sexual, psychological, and financial) in your relationship, please seek support through Student Services as soon as possible.

Topics covered

Session 1 - Insight: Develop awareness of who you are, your needs and what you bring to a relationship.

Session 2 - Mutuality: Learn how to convey your needs in a relationship and nurture the needs of others.

Session 3 - Conflict Resolution: Learn ways through practice how to communicate and resolve arguments that are inevitable in every relationship.

Session 4 – Emotion Regulation: Learns ways to regulate your emotions through skill-building 

NOTE: It will be important and beneficial that all sessions are attended.
