NAIDOC Week Poster Audio Tour
The National NAIDOC Poster Competition is held every year during NAIDOC week, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists (aged 16 years and over) are encouraged to submit artwork representing that year's National NAIDOC Week Theme.
The NAIDOC Poster Competion has a rich and important history and has become an iconic feature of NAIDOC week celebrations ever since the National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) first began producing posters in 1967. The winning posters NAIDOC are not only displayed across Australian cultural institutions (such as the National Museum of Australia) but also on the NAIDOC Week Poster Gallery, where you can view and download a copy of every poster from 1972 to 2025. The NAIDOC Poster Gallery not only creates a beautiful timeline of the winning posters throughout the competition's history but also highlights the many significant social changes that have occurred since 1967.
To celebrate NAIDOC 2025, the UQ Life team has created an interactive audio tour of five NAIDOC Week posters, each of which correspond important moments in UQ's RAP Journey. You can find out more about the University of Queensland’s vision for reconciliation by reading the Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), UQ's steadfast commitment by UQ to building a united, respectful community.
