What is National Student Volunteer Week?
National Student Volunteer Week (9-15 August) celebrates and empowers students and young people to rise up and participate in their local communities.
At UQ we have a large number of volunteers and we are joining in with the National campaign to celebrate all their hard work.
The connection gained through volunteering provides students with a sense of belonging and ownership, whilst developing leadership and empathy skills.
Throughout the week UQ will be giving students a range of opportunities to join volunteering, celebrate their fellow volunteers, and most importantly have fun getting involved!
Through NSVW we aim to:
- Celebrate, promote and support student volunteering
- Empower young people to discuss and innovate through volunteering
- Strengthen relationships
- Build a mighty new generation of volunteers to uplift our communities.

Employability Award
The Employability Award is a structured program that recognises the personal and professional development you can gain from your involvement in activities above and beyond your academic studies. It is essentially a learning program that will guide you through a range of experiences and reflections to unlock your potential.
Participation is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students studying at UQ with the opportunity to receive the Award upon graduation.
