Women’s Health Week and Body Image and Eating Disorders Awareness Week

This year Women’s Health Week and Body Image and Eating Disorders Awareness Week (BIEDAW) will both occur
from 4th to 8th September 2023.

UQ Wellbeing and the Women's Collective will hold a range of student activities across all campuses dedicated to celebrating & promoting good health and
raising awareness of body image concerns and eating disorders.

These events are open to all students but will focus on the wellbeing of women, girls and gender diverse people.

Tuesday, 5 September

Come along enjoy a free lunch sponsor by LiveLife Pharmacy while chatting to service providers and gathering resources specifically for women and gender-diverse folk to support their health.
Join the Butterfly Foundation to learn and chat about healthy body image, eating disorders and ideas for creating a body positive student culture.

Wednesday, 6 September

Thursday, 7 September

They are natural. They're normal. They're all different. Let's Talk About it.
Learn what is normal and not so normal when it comes to periods, pain and provide tips and tricks to manage pain.
For BIEDAW, Students are welcome to explore the question of "What does a healthy body mean for me or the person I case the most about in the world?" through the use of clay, paint or card making.

Friday, 8 September

Come join the Women’s Collective and UQ Wellbeing for some free pizza and find out about the most effective methods available in Australia, understand how contraception works, choosing the best option for you and where to go for support.
