Mental Health Week (12-16 Oct)

Mental Health Week is an annual awareness week that aims to shine a spotlight on mental health and wellbeing. Join us as we celebrate and raise awareness with a week of activations both online and across the St Lucia, Gatton & Herston campuses.

This year has been particularly challenging for so many of us, and has highlighted the importance of taking the time to look after our own mental health, as well as connecting with and checking in on those around us.

This year, we will also be recognising and supporting both National Carers Week and Sexual Violence Awareness Month as part of our Mental Health Week program.

National Carers Week recognises and celebrates the outstanding contribution that unpaid carers make to our nation, and presents an opportunity to educate and raise awareness among all Australians about the diversity of carers and their caring roles. UQ will be designating Tuesday, 13th October as Carer's Day, with a number of events to support our carers community.

October is also Sexual Violence Awareness Month. Join the UQ Respect team for a range of activities across the week that aim to promote respect and safety across our campuses for all members of our community. Complete the UQ Respect online module and receive a free gift bag, come to the Understanding Respect and Consent Discussion Circle with the One Woman Project, engage with our new Respect Is… campaign and share your thoughts on what respect means to you!

Take a look at our jam packed program, and come and join us throughout the week!
