Join us in 2021 as The University of Queensland shines the light on all things employability.

Employability Week 2021 is all about giving you the edge to compete in a growing global employment marketplace. Focusing on the opportunities available at UQ to help enrich your experience, the Week will showcase easy ways to develop your employability and build new capabilities to enable you to thrive at work and set yourself up for a satisfying and impactful career..

What can I expect?

The 21st Century world of work is continually changing, and many of us will have multiple careers during our lifetimes. Throughout Employability Week, you will learn more about career opportunities, engage meaningfully with employers, alumni and other industry partners in presentations and networking sessions, as well as participate in a wide suite of interactive workshops and talks that will empower you to take control of your career direction and unlock your future potential.

You can expect to take part in panel discussions, workshops, networking events and other pop-up activities that will all help give you skills that transcend your course work and build your lifelong employability.

Gain insights from industry on how to stand out from the crowd, learn about the recruitment process and more at our selected industry panels throughout the week.
From resume reviews to building the perfect LinkedIn profile, there are heaps of practical workshops on offer during the week to give you the edge.
Give yourself the edge and meet industry professionals, alumni and recruitment professionals to help you get the right mindset before seeking graduate employment at one of the networking events across the week.

Enhancing your skill set a highly effective way to stand out from the crowd! This practical hands on workshop delivered by one of our UQ alum, Patrice Dodd, will teach you the importance and application of Design Thinking.
In this session you will gain insight into how mentoring can support your career and personal goals. If you have been or are thinking about participating in a mentoring relationship, you will walk away with practical advice to help you get the most out of mentoring now and in the future.
