'Tis the season to be jolly! Christmas is just around the corner!
Around this time, you’ll often see seasonal events popping up, which can be confusing if this is your first time having a hot Christmas. We’ve put together this handy guide for you on some of the best things to do in Brisbane over the holidays and how you can join the festivities.
Over 150 makers, artists and designers under one roof to help you SHOP LOCAL this Christmas. As part of their mission to inspire and support creativity and conversation among the local Brisbane community, you can not only shop from their wide range of market stalls but also take part in their craft workshops or maker demonstrations to test your creative skills.

Get into the festive cheer of French Christmas traditions! On 19 to 20 November, West Village will be transformed into a magical Marché de Noël, illuminated in festive 'bleu-blanc-rouge'! Showcasing local unique, French-inspired stalls and performances to celebrate the festive season the French way. From a specially selected range of French artists and artisan stalls, a French bar, entertainment, a raffle, and more, this will be the perfect way to step into the Christmas spirit!

Carseldine is getting ready for Santa Claus! On 19 November, Brisbane's beloved Christmas market, Carseldine Christmas Twilight Market, will warm your heart with Christmas cheer! Fill your stockings with handmade goods from bespoke makers and get work on your Santa bod with gourmet eats and sweets. Enjoy festive entertainment and live music all night long.

Being one of the most popular weekend markets in Brisbane, Milton Markets are set to ring in the festive season with their mega Christmas Twilight Market! To start the silly season off on the right foot, there will be a pop-up bar, gourmet eats and incredible live entertainment. You'll also find unique artisan handmade gifts you won't find anywhere else, so you can get all your Christmas shopping done before December.

5. BrisStyle Twilight Christmas Market
Under the twinkling lights of the Brisbane City Christmas Tree, you'll find a treasure trove of home-grown makers, with no imported products, from over 60 local artisans in King George Square. You can even expect a visit from the BIG MAN IN RED (yes, we mean Santa)! Also on hand will be food trucks, live music and a variety of fun activities for you!

6. Portside Christmas Markets
Is there a better setting to browse a market than on the waterfront? Answer: Obviously not. Portside Wharf is hosting one of its largest-ever line-ups of vendors that will showcase local businesses offering the perfect Christmas gifts, art and ceramics, handmade jewellery, pet treats, fashion, and much more. There are also plenty of activities, giveaways, and live music to set the mood while you browse and shop.

Each year Brisbane City Council will turn on the 22m-high Christmas tree’s twinkling lights accompanied by special Christmas musical performances to get you in the festive mood. The Brisbane Christmas Tree will be displayed from late November until late December in King George Square.
