Student Health Week

Empowering you to live a balanced, healthy lifestyle. Join us for UQ’s Student Health Week.

From 26 to 29 August 2024, Student Health Week by UQ Wellbeing aims to spotlight student health needs, expand support for various health aspects, and to empower you with various knowledge and skills to enhance your wellbeing. How you fuel and move your body can have a big impact on your mind, health and quality of life. This week of activations will be a chance for you to learn new tips and skills to enhance your nutritional and physical health, as well as mental health, sexual and reproductive health, and ways you can access healthcare safely and easily.

Move

Movement, at any intensity and any level, is sometimes all we need to de-stress, regulate our emotions, boost our energy levels, and just feel good overall! Don’t miss out on the various activations happening for all levels of fitness and mobility: whether it’s slow mindful movements like yoga, testing your fitness levels for fun, or a round of social sport with your friends and peers.

Fuel

How we fuel our bodies will influence how well we move and how our bodies function physically, mentally and emotionally. This Student Health Week, Foodbank Queensland are hosting a free Student Market Stall* at St Lucia. These markets have been provided generously by Allianz Partners. Take home a range of fresh produce and key pantry staples at no cost! (We encourage you to bring your own reusable bag in case of bag shortages.)

Based at Dutton Park or Herston? Bring home your own blend of overnight oats at UQ Wellbeing’s Make Your Own: Overnight Oats and see how easy it can be to prepare a quick and nutritious meal/snack and save you time for your other priorities during the semester. Jars and ingredients will be provided to you for free.

*Please bring along your Student ID to scan and enter the market stall.

Mood

Unwind and connect with your mind and self with the UQ Counselling's Art Therapy workshops at St Lucia and Herston. Learn

Whether you’re looking to broaden your own knowledge around health and access to health services, or to be better informed and share with your friends, there will be stalls, resources and vendors you can chat with to learn about what’s available to you. From information around how you access healthcare in Australia safely and confidentially, to accessing resources and support for your all aspects of health and wellbeing, don’t miss the opportunity to connect with services and support available to you at UQ and in the community as well.
