About Me

Hey there! I am Lakshita, a domestic student currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in biomedical science. I will be graduating this semester and begin my honours from next semester. I am hoping to make a career in medical research industry as I have always been fascinated by the intricacies of the human body and the potential of scientific research to improve healthcare outcomes. I have a strong passion for learning, exploring and making most out of my university experience. Life as a student has been quite the journey for me, filled with ups and downs, memorable moments and valuable life lessons.

Apart from academics, I have been actively involved in various extracurricular activities on campus, as a student volunteer with GetInvolved and UQ Union, Science leader, Health Promotion Ambassador and Peer Mentor. I have engaged in such activities to sharpen my communication skills and expand my knowledge beyond the classroom while building lifelong friendships. Being involved with the UQ community not only keeps me active but also boosts my employability skills such as teamwork, discipline and perseverance.

When I need a break from the hectic college routine, I enjoy spending time with my friends. Whether it's grabbing a cup of coffee at my favourite café, going on spontaneous shopping trips, or simply hanging out at the campus, these moments of relaxation and laughter help me recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance. University life has taught me so much about independence, time management, and embracing new experiences. It is a phase of life where personal growth and self-discovery go hand in hand. I am grateful for the opportunities, the friendships, and the valuable lessons I've learned along the way.
